As the Israelites stand on the brink of freedom after centuries of slavery, Moses delivers a surprising message. He does not speak about land, power, or victory, but about education and the responsibility of parents to their children. True freedom, he teaches, depends not on armies or laws, but on how values are passed from one generation to the next.

Judaism is built on questioning rather than blind obedience. Children are encouraged to ask, challenge, and think, because faith grows through understanding, not silence. This commitment to education shaped Jewish survival and identity, leading to a culture that valued schools, teachers, and lifelong learning above wealth or power.

The Torah’s message is clear: freedom begins in the mind. A society endures only when its children are taught to remember the past, pursue justice and compassion, and develop the courage to question. Education is the foundation of liberty, and through it, the future is secured.

The ideas are shaped and based on the work of Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, and influenced by Maimonides, Nachmanides, Don Isaac Abarbanel, Samson Raphael Hirsch, David Zvi Hoffmann, Ben-Zion Meir Hai Uziel, and Uri Amos Cherki.
